Will modifications like a lift kit or bull bar cause a problem?

They can. Modifications affect compliance as well as value, and some need to be removed or re-engineered before the vehicle can be registered here. Raise it with us before bidding — the inspection reports what is fitted so there are no surprises after the car lands.

Is the vehicle ready to tow or go off-road when it arrives?

It arrives as a complied, registrable road vehicle. Towbars, accessories and off-road preparation are separate work you arrange in Australia and are not included in the landed cost estimate.

How long does it take from auction win to delivery?

Typically 6 to 10 weeks, covering Vehicle Import Approval, ocean freight, workshop compliance and the AVV inspection.

What happens if the vehicle fails inspection?

We do not bid, and your deposit stays fully refundable. The inspection is completed before any final bid is submitted.

Why Import Eligibility Comes First

Not every Japanese auction car can be imported to Australia. Model code, build month, vehicle type, pathway and compliance rules matter before a bid is placed. Carbarn's system is designed to filter vehicles against Australian import eligibility before they are shown to customers.

Bid Deposit and Auction Result

A deposit is required before Carbarn proceeds with a bid instruction. If the customer does not win the auction, the deposit can be made available for another auction vehicle or refunded according to Carbarn's process.

Place a Bid Deposit with a Controlled Review Process

After reviewing the vehicle and cost breakdown, the customer can place a bid deposit to secure the next step. Carbarn then checks the final vehicle details, auction sheet, import eligibility and available inspection/photo findings before final bid submission. If the vehicle should not proceed, the deposit can be moved to another suitable auction vehicle or refunded according to Carbarn policy and payment method rules.
