Commission the Japan-side inspection. State of health matters more than odometer on a used EV, and the auction grade does not cover it — the grade assesses body and interior condition. The inspection report and photos reach you on WhatsApp before any final bid.

Will a Japanese EV charge on Australian infrastructure?

Japanese EVs use the CHAdeMO standard for DC fast charging, which is supported at many but not all Australian fast chargers. Normal AC home and destination charging is straightforward. Worth planning around if you rely on public fast charging.

Do imported EVs qualify for Australian electric vehicle incentives?

How long does the import take?

Usually 6 to 10 weeks from auction win to Australian delivery, covering Vehicle Import Approval, ocean freight, workshop compliance and the AVV inspection.

What happens if the car fails inspection?
